How much will it cost me?
Our subscription for 2008 was £8. If you are a member of a nearby U3A, please email the New Members' Secretary for information on concessions.
We charge £1 for Open Meetings to cover room hire and refreshments.
Groups that meet in external halls etc. usually contribute to hire charges, while those which meet in members’ houses make a nominal charge (typically about 20p) to cover coffee etc.
Do I need qualifications to join?
No, you do not. Neither are qualifications awarded. We learn for pleasure.
U3A membership is not related to a specific age but to a period in one’s life (the third age) after the second age of full-time employment and parental responsibility. We welcome anybody in their third age and this includes people who are working part time. There is no lower age for membership.
How to join
Unfortunately, no new members can be accepted for 2008. Once details of 2009 membership are available, they can be obtained from this page. In the meantime, if you want further information please email the New Members' Secretary.
