‘We study Russian history in the belief that we might better understand Russia, its people and its government. We arbitrarily started at 1900 and, in the course of 30 meetings over 2 and a half years, are now at 1938. We have learned a great deal and hope that we may yet more fully understand Putin’s Russia.
