The basic rules are similar to normal tennis, but we play Short Tennis indoors, on a shorter court with a softer ball. Our game requires a little less strength, power and physicality than the main game, and so is suitable for all ages and abilities. But it allows for a greater range of shots (and is arguably more fun!). Those who have played other racquet sports will pick it up quite quickly, whilst others who have never played soon learn and enjoy the game. Increasingly popular, there are now Short Tennis leagues and U3A groups across the country.
Our sessions normally run for an hour, with each game lasting 5-10 minutes. We operate a pay-for-play system at £3 per player hour.
Why not take a look, at one of our free taster sessions, at the YMCA Sports Centre just off Arle Road. Or if you would like further details first, please don’t hesitate to contact me via the link above.

Group leader is Dave Shelmerdine
