A Warm Welcome!

Each month we hold an Open Meeting at St Matthew’s Church Hall, Clarence St (opposite main library) where members meet over a cuppa and biscuit, followed almost always by speaker on a subject of general interest. Forthcoming talks may be seen under “EVENTS”.

Our aim is to provide opportunities for our members to meet for discussion, study, and learning over a wide variety of subjects or to take part in outdoor activities such as walking and visits. The details of what is available can be found on the “GROUPS” and “EVENTS” pages.

Our members not only join and enjoy our Groups but also Lead them, join the tea/biscuits helpers rota and our Committee. Expect to be approached once you have joined for a while!

If you have a background in running or organising – shop, school, department, company, Brownies, zoo, the Government – you most probably have just the expertise the Committee needs. Members usually serve for a while before being asked to carry out a role.
Prospective New Members – are entitled to attend one open meeting before they join. See Events page for details.

Cheltenham u3a also run a New Members Meeting (click on Events Page link above) which discusses the origins of the u3a and our Groups, with many Group Leaders coming to put forward their view and availabilities.
