Cheltenham u3a has a large number of groups covering languages, physical activities, book clubs, music, bridge, current affairs, history, wine-tasting and more.
If you would like to get involved with any of these groups please contact their leader – see below. Alternatively contact the groups coordinator at [email protected]
We are always looking to provide our members with more variety or to start a second group when there is a waiting list. The most important thing is to find people willing to be group leaders. If you would like to know more about starting a group click on the‘How you can help’ link below.

How you can help
If there is anything you fancy doing that is not available to you when you contact the Groups through the web site, talk to the Groups Coordinator (see Contact the Committee in the Members area) and consider how easy it might be to run a Group yourself. The Group Leaders Handbook can be found in a Members Area of the website where there are details of how to set up a new group.
Cheltenham U3A facilitates new Groups through a Groups Coordinator (see Contact the Committee in the Members area) and supports them in several ways:
We help prospective leaders to find a venue for their activity
We support the first six meetings financially should there be insufficient members joining in that time
We will buy capital equipment for the U3A that are needed for new (and existing) Group activity
If there is anything you fancy doing that is not available to you when you contact the Groups through the web site, talk to the Groups Coordinator and consider how easy it might be to run a Group yourself. Here our Groups are listed, and below them a through-month calendar showing when each is held by morning/afternoon and day of week. Click on a Group for more detail and click on the Group Leader to email them.
If you are thinking of starting a Group have a look at “Group Leaders Handbook” and contact Groups Coordinator – or make contact if you have a more general enquiry than for a specific Group or Groups.
